Compute a Design

Paper and Pencil Math Using the Search and Shade Technique
Correlation With Up With Math
The activities of each Compute a Design book correlate directly with the content of the popular title Up With Math described on page 5 of this catalog. Because of this correlation, Compute a Design is an excellent supplement to the Up With Math program.
The Search n Shade Method
Each activity page requires students to work exercises which challenge their knowledge of basic concepts or their computational and problem solving skills. A shading code is shown beside each exercise. Students search for the answers on a grid and shade squares containing the answers. Excitement mounts as a clever symmetrical design emerges.
